Asuel Pujols Median, of Danbury, was arrested on Monday, Feb. 17, by Wilton Police following a traffic stop on Ridgefield Road, said Wilton Police Capt. Robert Cipolla.
According to Cipolla, during the stop officers found that the tag did not match the vehicle's identification number, and Median struggled to answer officers when asked who the vehicle belonged to.
Officers also detected an odor of marijuana and when asked for his ID, Median gave a fake name and said he did not have any proof of ID, police said.
During a search of the vehicle, officers found an adult learners permit with Median's real name and address under the floor mat.
Once identified, a check of his license found that he was wanted on a warrant from Trumbull Police Department for an assault, police said.
Median was charged with interfering with an officer, driving with a suspension, driving without insurance, and improper use of registration.
He is being held on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
The vehicle was seized and impounded.
